“Andrew MacCreadie and his team at Braefel Garage. Simply excellent! Sunday 18th June our Jaguar presents a problem, a pulley on the side of the engine has completely detached from its mounting, 5 miles from our caravan site. The alternator belt is twisted round various parts, the air con compressor which is not working either. We are 230 miles from home and in Cornwall to look at properties, with a line of viewing appointments to keep. Braefel Garage is close to the campsite. Monday 20th June, we are at the garage first thing. Andrew meets us for the first time and agrees to take a look at the problem. We needed to keep our appointments, so quickly sorted a hire car. It became clear by Monday evening that the air con compressor had seized, causing an overtensioning of the belt, which snapped an already part broken idler pulley bolt. Andrew could see the predicament we were in, he found us a courtesy car. Tuesday 21st June we collected the courtesy car, allowing us to keep our house visits, and returned late afternoon. The team had done a great job, after also finding the crankshaft pulley had gone as well. All completely unplanned, they took in our job, on the (very!) hottest days of the year, fitted us in amongst all their other jobs and all the interruptions that a very good garage can expect.
